If you would have found yourself chained 24/7 to a Roman Soldier like Paul, and you started writing about warfare, you might begin to relate to the way these guards, these warriors, equipped themselves. In fact, I can bet that Paul spoke to them specifically about their equipment.

We aren't called to retreat. We aren't called to cower. We are called to stand. God has provided us the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit.
