The unborn, elderly, disabled, the crippled and lame, the terminally ill . . . are they an issue to us? Always in the way? Do they get between us and our 'pleasures' of life? Are they a burden to society, or do they have some kind of intrinsic value that society (as a whole) seems to totally miss?
