Sermon Bible Verses
Verses from NKJV unless otherwise noted:
John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may
have it more abundantly.
Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of
His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able
to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle
against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore
take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on
the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with
the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the
shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying
always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being
watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for
all the saints--
Philippians 3:14
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God
in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:5-9
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders.
Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed
with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to
the humble." Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand
of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care
upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because
your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith,
knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your
brotherhood in the world.
2 Corinthians 4:4-6
whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe,
lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the
image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach
ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your
bondservants for Jesus' sake. For it is the God who commanded
light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to
give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face
of Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:25-26
in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God
perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the
truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the
snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his
will.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the
flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty
in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and
every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of
God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of
Christ,
Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all
your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is
the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You
shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments
hang all the Law and the Prophets."
Ephesians 3:11-20
according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ
Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with
confidence through faith in Him. Therefore I ask that you do not
lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. For
this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner
man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that
you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to
comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and
depth and height-- to know the love of Christ which passes
knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all
that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
